The Mayor's Blue Ribbon Cemetery Committee of Portsmouth, New Hampshire














 


The success of the Committee has resulted in the conservation of several gravestones, tombs and monuments in Point of Graves, Pleasant Street Cemetery, North Cemetery and Union Cemetery with plans for much more work in the future. This restoration process is currently ongoing and there is much more work to do on the gravestones and the grounds themselves.

A portion of the funds used towards gravestone conservation are provided by the City of Portsmouth, but that budget is limited and many more funds are needed. If you are interested in donating funds to help support this project, please visit our How To Help Section.

Conservation and repair of gravestones and tombs funded by the efforts of the Portsmouth Cemetery Committee has been provided by the Syphers Monument Company.
